Conference January 2012 — Sustainable Peace Building and Cooperative Livelihoods Project
This conference will be held in Kampala in January 2012 and will involve all parties to the conflict for the first time since 2006. The goal is to build a sustainable future of cooperation between all people in Darfur, not just “Africans” or just “Arabs”, but everyone. Read more>

Clinic Construction in Sulow West Darfur
In April 2010,
Darfur Reconciliation and Development Organization (DRDO) received funds from the Civil Affairs department of United Nations/African Union Hybrid operation in Darfur (UNAMID), to construct a clinic. In August 2010, construction was successfully completed. The clinic is designed to provide medical treatment, heath care
and much needed health education to the local population. It is the only health facility in an area whose population is 98,703 persons. Read more>


Help the Children of Darfur’s Refugee Camps
Today in Darfur, few children have access to education. Most of them have been left with no education and no day­‐to-day care. The neglect of the education process has created a situation
whereby there is an increasing incidence of teenage pregnancy, drug use, sexually transmitted disease, violence, hopelessness and crime. Today, Omar Esamil Ibrahim, who is 13 years of age is one of many in the internally displaced person’s camps in Darfur. He is willing and ready to go to school, however he cannot make it due to lack of resources as well as lack of school supplies. There is no larger challenge facing children to go to school than lack of school supplies. When they cannot write and have nothing to write with, they end up in the camp learning bad habits.
